The 53rd Anniversary Of Angkasa Pura Airports: Momentum Accelerated Development Of Airport Infrastructure

BOGOR- On last February 20th, 2017, Angkasa Pura Airport reached the age of -53. The anniversary of the company which managing 13 airports in the eastern until the middle of Indonesia region made as a momentum to accelerate infrastructure development some airports, such as Syamsudin Noor Airport Banjarmasin, Ahmad Yani Airport in Semarang, and the New Airport of Jogja.

“The 53rd anniversary of Angkasa Pura Airport made us to make it as a momentum to expedite the completion of the construction and development of airports that we manage, especially the Syamsudin Noor Airport Banjarmasin, Ahmad Yani Airport Semarang, and the new Jogjakarta Airport. The acceleration is done to improve the level of service for the users of airport services, revealed the Main Director of Angkasa Pura Airports Danang S. Baskoro, on the occasion of family gathering 53rd Anniversary Angkasa Pura Airports in Taman Budaya Sentul, Bogor (2/25/2017).

Angkasa Pura Airport is the pioneer of Airport Affairs commercial company in Indonesia. The company initially named PN Angkasa Pura Kemayoran on February 20th 1964 received a mandate to manage Kemayoran Airport, the first and only one International airport in Indonesia at that time.

Angkasa Pura Airports is currently managing 13 Airports in the central and eastern Indonesia. In its development in the future, some airports will also be managed by the Angkasa Pura Airport. Angkasa Pura Airports also has subsidiaries namely,PT Angkasa Pura Logistic, PT Angkasa Pura Property, PT Angkasa Pura Support, PT Angkasa Pura Hotel, and PT Angkasa Pura Retail.

The growth of Double Digit

In 2016 ago, Angkasa Pura Airport recorded a passenger growth and double digit profit. During 2016, the company serves as many as 84.7 million passengers, or is still able to grow double-digit at 14.3 percent compared to 2015. In addition, air traffic movements recorded 762 thousand, up 8.8% compared to last year, as well as cargo as much as 362.5 thousand tons, or an increase of 11.4%.

The impact on the increase in passenger revenue also grew double-digit. In fiscal year 2016, Angkasa Pura Airport managed to earn a net profit of Rp 1.1 trillion, an increase of 34% compared to the year 2015. In addition, our operating income reached Rp 6.1 trillion, up 18% when compared to the previous year. Of the total revenue, amounting to Rp 3.6 trillion, or 59% of its business comes from aeronautics, and Rp 2.5 trillion or 41% of its business comes from non-aeronautical. This year 2017, we are targeting revenue of Rp 7.6 trillion, up about 25% of our revenue in 2016. It’s a challenge for us together to be able to achieve, and even surpass it.

Gratitude Greeting

Through this anniversary momentum, Danang S.Baskoro also expressed his gratitude to all stakeholders, including government, the House of Representatives, vendors and business partners, service users and the public user of the airport for their support, help and trust given over the years. “Without the support of all parties, we found it difficult to survive and develop until the age of 53,” said Danang S.Baskoro.

The 53rd anniversary celebration of Angkasa Pura Airports consists of various series of activities carried out both at the headquarters and branches of the airport since the beginning of February 2017. As for some of the activities carried out are social activities such as the distribution of free food, distribution of free school bags and books, blood donor, mass circumcision, and scholarships for elementary school students who performed in the various branches of the airport as a form of corporate social responsibility. Besides that it also conducted various competitions to enliven the celebration of the anniversary, such as fishing competition, the race birdsong, food and fashion contest, coloring contest for children and others.
