Angkasa Pura Airports Ready To Anticipate The Impact Of Mount Agung Eruption

JAKARTA - Angkasa Pura Airports expressed its readiness in anticipating the impact of Mount Agung eruption in Bali, which a few days ago was detected magma activity that continues to rise to the surface. "If the potential for eruption of Mount Agung is higher and urgent conditions, I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport will prepare a number of impact mitigation measures, such as setting up emergency disaster relief posts at airports, preparing facilities and support such as contact center hotline service, airline help desk for airline passengers , media center for mass media, and preparing bus or four-wheel vehicles to deliver passengers if they want to change their travel plan via land or sea, "said by Corporate Secretary Angkasa Pura Airports Israwadi.

Another form of preparedness, continued by Israwadi, is a standard operational procedure for the Airport Disaster Management Plan (AMDP) which is socialized to members of the Airport Emergency Committee (AEC) consisting of relevant stakeholders such as TNI, Perum LPPNPI, local Police, airline, immigration, quarantine, and ground handling. "This socialization informs about the tasks and responsibilities so that in case of disaster, all parties already understand what things should be done by each side," added by Israwadi.

Furthermore, if identified volcanic ash or volcanic ash, then I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport will be closed and the flight will divert to the airport around, such as Juanda Airport Surabaya which can accommodate 12 flight slots, Lombok International Airport which can accommodate 2 flights, and Adi Soemarmo Solo Airport which can accommodate 30 flight slots.
