Angkasa Pura Continues To Support The Development of Tourism Industry and Air Transportation Connectivity

Jakarta, June 30th, 2017- Angkasa Pura Airports continue to intensify the realization of air transport connectivity and the development of tourism industry of central and eastern Indonesia to support the growth of national economic growth.

This can be seen from the opening of 28 new routes consisting of 20 domestic routes and 8 International routes, by airlines at airport managed by Angkasa Pura Airports from January to June 2017.

The new twenty eight routes are Garuda Indonesia which open routes of Manado-Gorontalo, Ambon-Kaimana, Ambon-Surabaya, Ambon-Sorong; Lion Air which open routes of Kinabalu-Denpasar, Balikpapan-Pontianak, Kualalumpur-Solo, Kualalumpur-Surabaya, Surabaya-Palembang; Malindo Air which open routes of Kualalumpur-Denpasar-Brisbane; Sriwijaya Air which open routes of Sentani-Surabaya, Lampung-Surabaya, Lampung-Yogyakarta, Semarang-Makassar, Makassar-Mamuju; Susi Air which open routes of Ambon-Sanana Maluku Utara; Wings Air which open routes of Manado-Raja Ampat, Manado-Sangir Talaud-Merauke, Ambon-Dobo; Air Asia Indonesia which open routes of Kualalumpur-Lombok and Kualalumpur-Yogyakarta; Dimonim Air which open routes of Kisar (Maluku)-Ambon; Batik Air which open routes of Ambon-Makassar and Ambon-Jakarta; Air New Zealand which open routes of Auckland-Denpasar; and Air Asia which open routes of Kualalumpur-Solo and Denpasar-Narita.

Meanwhile, there are two new routes that opened during Ramadhan and Lebaran, namely Makassar- Mamuju by Sriwijaya Air and Denpasar- Narita by Air Asia.

The opening of 28 new routes by the Airline is in line with Angkasa Pura Airport’s effort to develop the regional tourism industry through Collaborative Destination Development (CDD) initiative involving all stakeholders of the regional tourism industry from the star of the central and local governments, airlines, travel company associations and other related institutions.

In addition to the CDD program, to support the realization of air connectivity and the development of the tourism Industry, Angkasa Pura Airport also provides incentives for airlines that open new routes and increase flight frequencies.

“We continue to support the realization of air transport connectivity in line with the growth of the tourism industry through incentives and initiatives of tourism programs Collaborative Destination Development. Through the CDD program, continued Danang, Angkasa Pura Airports seeks to embrace and encourage stakeholders to collaborate in order to realize the uneven regional economic development and ultimately to contribute to the growth of the national economy.

“Seeing the number of new routes opening by the middle of 2016, we are optimistic that the movement of passengers in 2017 can reach 90 million passengers, growing about 11%of the passenger movement in 2016 as many as 83.8 million passengers, “said Danang.

For information, in addition to the CDD Program planned for 11 cities in 2017 to stimulate tourist visits, Angkasa Pura Airports also conduct several annual program activities such as Airport Running Series in several cities, AP I Golf Tournament Series in several cities, and special support against the Jazz Mount Bromo music show.

In addition, Angkasa Pura Airports are also designed friendly with tourists (Tourists friendly airport) by setting up tourists information center (TIC) and the selection of airport ambassadors at each airport, organizing thematic events at certain times in each airport, tourists icon, and others.
