JAKARTA - The news of grief came from the management of PT Angkasa Pura I (Persero). Danang S. Baskoro President Director of PT Angkasa Pura I (Persero) passed away on Saturday (18/11) at 12:25 WIB at the age of 56 years in Pondok Gede Hospital, Jakarta.

The body of the deceased was buried in the funeral complex of West Imogiri Road KM 6,5 Semail Village RT 01, Bangunharjo Sewon, Bantul, Yogyakarta, on Sunday (19/11) at 11.00 WIB after being buried in the funeral home in Sunter North Jakarta on Saturday (18/11). This funeral ceremony was also attended by the Governor of Yogyakarta Special Region Sri Sultan Hamengkubuwono X and Yogyakarta Mayor Haryadi Suyuti.

The body of the deceased departed from the funeral home in Sunter to Soekarno Hatta Airport Cargo Terminal on Sunday (19/11) at 01.00 WIB and was buried in West Imogiri Street KM 6.5 at 08.00 WIB.

Successful Make I Gusti Ngurah Bali Airport as World's Number One Airport

The man who was born in Semarang on October 5, 1961 hold position of President Director of PT Angkasa Pura I (Persero) since October 2016 based on Decree of State Minister of SOE Number SK-240/MBU/10/2016 dated October 17, 2016. Although only about one year lead PT Angkasa Pura I (Persero), but the late Danang S. Baskoro has succeeded in bringing several airports under PT Angkasa Pura I (Persero) to achieve world-class awards, one of which is I Gusti Ngurah Rai Bali Airport which ranked first in the category of airport with the number of passengers 15-25 million people per year according to the Airport Council International (ACI) airport Flight Quality (ASQ) flight satisfaction survey of Q3/2017.

Previously in 2016, I Gusti Ngurah Rai Bali Airport won the title as "The 3rd World Best Airport 2016" for airport category with 15-25 million passengers per year and Sultan Hasanuddin Airport Makassar became "The Most Improved Airport in Asia-Pacific 2016" in event ASQ Awards 2016. Also Juanda Surabaya International Airport which was named the most timely airport in the world in 2016 based on research agency air travel analyst from England, OAG. Some of these international achievements were achieved by PT Angkasa Pura I (Persero) thanks to the efforts and leadership of the late Danang. S. Baskoro.

As the President Director of PT Angkasa Pura I (Persero), the late Danang S. Baskoro has a heavy duty to build and develop 9 airports at once. The largest airport development project is the New International Airport Yogyakarta in Kulonprogo which is targeted to start operating in early 2019. Followed by the development of Ahmad Yani International Airport in Semarang targeted for completion in March 2018. In addition, Angkasa Pura I is also believed to manage 5 additional airports currently still in process at the Ministry of Transportation. The five airports are Sentani Airport in Jayapura, Tarakan Airport, Labuan Bajo Airport, SIS Al-Jufrie Pearl Airport in Palu, and Syukuran Aminuddin Amir Airport in Bubung Village, Luwuk District, Banggai Regency, Central Sulawesi.

"We are grateful for the legacy left by Mr. Danang S. Baskoro and will continue the efforts he has started to build new airports and develop many airports in Indonesia," Israwadi said.

Prior to his appointment as President Director of PT Angkasa Pura I (Persero), he also served as President Director of PT ASDP Indonesia Ferry (Persero) for the period of 2011-2015. He also served as Commissioner of Aerowisata (2001-2004), Assistant Deputy Sector Logistics & Tourism Ministry of BUMN (2004-2005), Commissioner of PT Jakarta International Container Terminal (JICT) (2005-2008), Commissioner of PT Merpati Nusantara Airlines (2008-2011).
