Increase Competitiveness, President Joko Widodo Groundbreaking The Construction Of Railway’s Adi Soemarmo Airport

BOYOLALI – The President of Indonesia Joko Widodo implemented Groundbreaking or laying the first stone of Railway Adi Soemarmo in Boyolali, Saturday (4/8/2017). This event was attended by the Minister of Tranportation Budi Karya Sumadi, Minister of BUMN Rini Soemarno, Central java Govenor Ganjar Pranowo, Chief Executive Officer of PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Ltd) Edi Sukmono, as well as the President Director of PT Angkasa Pura I (Ltd) Danang S. Baskoro held in Adi Soemarmo, Boyolali Regency, Central Java.

“Competition between countries today is very fierce.  The disclosure of the digital revolution makes us also compete with other countries for mutual win the competition, won the competition in every way, whether in industry, trade, and investment. To contend the country should have a competitive edge or competitiveness. Countries that have high competitiveness, efficient and quick service that will win the competition,” said President Jokowi.

According to the President Jokowi, Indonesia as a great country should not be left behind and should be able to win the competition. “Therefore all things related to good transport port, land and air are all to be efficient. That is why we have to construct the Railway Train Adi Soemarmo” said President Jokowi.

“Virtually in every advanced country, when we get off the plane at the airport, once down the lift there will be already train. These are intermodal connections that will make public services more efficient. People are given the choice, want to take a taxi, bus, train, or LRT. This is the choice that must be provided by the country in order to have competitiveness,” exclaimed President Jokowi.

Furthermore President Jokowi asked Governor, the Regents, Mayors, as well as the Prosecutor’s Office to assist the process of land acquisition for development Railway Adi Soemarmo can be done with the time target in 2018 is completed.

The construction of Railway Adi Soemarmo is one of the Government’s efforts to realize the integrity of intermodal public transport that meets the needs of the community mobilization/transportation of passengers so as to create a safe, convenient, and timely,” added Minister of Transportation Budi Karya Sumadi.

Budi Karya said the availability of the airport train also one important element of the development process in the Airport City Adi Soemarmo. Moreover, the service has become one of the Airport Hub in Java where the city Solo became the center  where major cities in Indonesia part of East or West, among others Ambon, Kupang, Manado, Palangkaraya, Medan, Padang can go directly to and departing from Solo, as well as International track flights namely to Malaysia, Singapore and Jeddah.

Central Java Governor Ganjar Pranowo said in his speech will fully support strategic projects to be implemented by the Government. ”We will continue to velocities in order to catch up and improve the competitiveness of the Nation,” said Ganjar Pranowo.

Train service will be the main alternative to move from Solo to Yogyakarta and vice versa It takes relatively quickly,” said Danang S. The total length of Railways plans between Solo Balapan-Adi Soemarmo Station is 13.5 km. The railway line is divided into two segments, the first segment along 3.5 km of an existing railway line and the second segment is 10 km long new railway line. Plan for traffic railway stations alignment Solo Balapan – Adi Soemarmo in accordance with Regulation Number 1 of 2012 on the city of Solo RTRW 2011-2013 and will coexist with Kertosono Solo toll road, which largely bypassed the region Surakarta City administration.

Adi Soemarmo Train project is a synergy of the Government through the state budget with the synergy of several state-owned companies namely PT Kereta Api Indonesia (Ltd), PT Angkasa Pura I (Ltd), and PT PP Tbk. Procurement of train will be using the local products of PT Inka (Ltd).[AD].
