On Second Day Of Christmas Holiday, Increasing Of Passenger At Airports Of Angkasa Airports Airports Reached To 8.71%

JAKARTA - On the second day of the 2017 Christmas holiday (26/12), Angkasa Pura Airports recorded 279,480 passenger movements or an increase of 8.71% compared to the same period in the previous year of 257,089 passengers at 13 managed airports. The highest passenger movement growth on the second day of Christmas took place at Adisutjipto Airport Yogyakarta where there were 28,314 domestic passengers and 1,545 international passengers or an increase of 17.09% over the same period in the previous year which reached 22,088 domestic passengers and 991 international passengers.

"Pattimura Airport Ambon recorded the highest growth in the plane on the second day of Christmas Holiday in which there are 58 flights or increased 26.09% compared to the same period last year which reached 46 flights from and to Ambon," said by Director Angkasa Pura Airports , Faik Fahmi.

Based on data from the Center of Command of Angkasa Pura Airports Jakarta Head Office since H-7 until the second day of Christmas Holiday, recorded 2,521,707 passengers came and departed from 13 airports managed by AP I or increased by 6.73% compared to the period the same year before that reached 2,372,958 passengers. The movement of aircraft also increased up to 7.98% or reached 19,457 aircraft movements when compared to the previous period which reached 18,020 movements.

Frans Kaisiepo Biak Airport was recorded as the highest for passenger growth on H-7 until the second day of Christmas holiday between airports managed by AP I. Recorded 12,875 domestic and international passengers or increased 29.36% when compared to the same period last year which reached 9,953 passengers. The increase in passengers was also followed by an increase in the number of aircraft movements from and to Biak which reached 195 aircraft movements or increased 34.48% when compared to the same period the previous year which reached 145 movements.

After the eruption of Mount Agung in Bali, I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport began to show the growth trend of passengers. On the second day of Christmas Holidays 59,609 domestic and international passengers arrived and departed through I Gusti Ngurah Airport, up 7.18% when compared to the previous year which reached 55,616 passengers. The increase was also followed by the movement of aircraft that reached 417 flights or an increase of 13.95% compared to the same period the previous year which reached 366 movements of aircraft both domestically and internationally.

"Currently, some of our airports are focusing on preparing service activities and new year's eve celebrations at the airport. For example Airport I Gusti Ngurah Rai Bali which will hold the last passenger release in 2017 and the first reception of passengers in 2018. The last passenger in 2017 will be flowered and given souvenirs. While the first passengers in 2018 will be greeted by Balinese dance and music accompaniment. Besides, there will also be other exciting activities at the airport in welcoming the new year 2018. The various activities to welcome the new year at this airport is also an effort to support Bali Aman post-eruption campaign of Gunung Agung,"said by Fahmi Faik. [AD]
