Thwarting The Smuggling Of Shabu-Shabu Valued As 4.5 Billion IDR, Angkasa Pura Airports Management Gave Appreciation To AVSEC Officer

JAKARTA - Angkasa Pura Airports Management gave appreciation to five aviation security (avsec) officers who succeeded in thwarting of shabu - shabu smuggling effort through Yogyakarta Adi sutjipto Airport. The 3-kilogram shabu, valued at 4.5 billion IDR, was brought by three suspects who will fly by Sriwijaya Air SJ 230 route Pekanbaru-Yogyakarta-Balikpapan route on Friday, 20 October 2017.

"We appreciate the success of the avsec team of Angkasa Pura Airports, which quickly succeeded in thwarting the smuggling effort of shabu-shabu. The smuggling of narcotics smuggling is the largest at Adi Sutjipto Airport with a value of 4.5 billion IDR. Management expects the avsec team to maintain good performance in preventing smuggling of illegal goods through aircraft, in addition to help maintain the safety and security of air travel," said by President Director of Angkasa Pura Airports Danang S. Baskoro in Jakarta on Monday (30/10/2017).

Appreciation form given by Angkasa Pura Airports management in the form of award certificate directly by the President Director, prize money of five times salary, and several other prizes. Giving appreciation is done at the headquarters of PT Angkasa Pura I (Persero), Jakarta.

As previously noted, the smuggling of shabu-shabu on October 20, 2017 at 13.06 WIB at Adi Sutjipto Airport Yogyakarta started when the avsec officer found three suspicious people upon entering Screening Check Point (SCP) 2 Terminal B. The officer then performed body screening, and was found four packs of shabu-shabu, each weighing 750 grams.

Furthermore, officers secure the three people. Angkasa Pura Airports then coordinated these findings to the Provincial Narcotics Board (BNNP) of Yogyakarta Special Region (DIY) and POM AU. A number of evidences were also submitted to BNNP DIY. [DR]
