Angkasa Pura Airports Support The Prevention Of Drug Trafficking And Traffic Monitoring Of Fishery Products In The Airport Environment.

JAKARTA – In order to assist the Government in preventing and combating abuse and illicit traffic of narcotics (P4GN) and precursors of Narcotics in the workplace and airports under its management, PT Angkasa Pura I signed a Memorandum of Understanding or MOU with the National Narcotics Agency (BNN) in Hotel Grand Mercure Kemayoran, Jakarta, Friday (17/2).The signed of Memorandum of Understanding done by the main Director of PT Angkasa Pura I (Ltd) Danang S Baskoro and the chief of BNN Budi Waseso.

The signed of Memorandum of Understanding aiming to improve the synergy of PT Angkasa Pura I (Ltd)and BNN  in the prevention and eradication of illicit trafficking in narcotic abuse (P4GN) and precursor drugs and improved performance Aviation Security officers at the airport environment in the prevention of Narcotics crime and Narcotics Precursor.

“Indonesia has become one of the biggest targets in narcotics controlled by national and international networks. The airport as a point of departure and arrival of passengers as well as cargo aircrafts are prone to be used as a pathway drug shipment from different regions and countries. We strongly support efforts to BNN in the fight against drug abuse and illicit trafficking in the country through airports managed by Angkasa Pura I,” said Danang S.Baskoro.

The scope of cooperation between PT Angkasa Pura I with BNN, iclude: firstly information dissemination P4GN and Narcotics Precursor. Secondly, the publicity and the Anti-Drug campaign in the workplace and the airport environment under the management of PT Angkasa Pura I (Ltd).Thirdly, increase the active role of PT Angkasa Pura I as the instigators of the Anti-Drug. Fourthly, early detection on abuse of narcotics through a test or drug test. Fifth, the exchange of data and information P4GN and Narcotics Precursors. Sixth, granting access to BNN to perform action relating to the investigation and related inquiry crime Narcotics and Narcotics Precursor. Sixth, granting access to BNN to perform actions relating to investigations and inquiries related crime Narcotics and Narcotics Precursor.

“BNN considers it important and strategic cooperation with PT Angkasa Pura I as a state-owned company that provides air traffic services and business airports in the area of central Indonesia and Eastern Indonesia. This cooperation is a great opportunity and potential that can be utilized to optimize concrete steps in handling the problem of narcotics and precursor drugs, “said Budi Waseso.

“Abuse and illicit trafficking can be an obstacle to the generation. We hope to be a good partner for BNN in combating abuse and narcotics to the roots, “Danang S Baskoro added.

Support Traffic Control at the Airport of Fishery products.

In the same occasion, PT AP I also signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the Agency Fish Quarantine, Quality Control, and Safety Results for Fish (BKIPM) Ministry of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries (KKP) to improve the effectiveness of traffic control of fish and fishery products in the airports managed by PT Angkasa Pura I (Ltd). The signing was done by the main Director of PT Angkasa Pura I (Ltd) Danang S Baskoro and the Chief of BKIPM Rina.

While the scope of this MOU is the implementation of various activities such as the provision of data related content via Notification for Fish and fishery products travelled by cargo; dissemination of information and/or laws and regulations on together; coordination meeting and appointment  of Personal In charge(PIC) of each party; the use of x-rays in the investigation and/or the re-examination of expenditure, income or transit; provision and utilization of physical examination facilities in the passenger terminal and cargo terminal; utilization access Circuit Close Television (CCTV) for a joint investigation; and the provision of technical guidance and/training. In addition, also did improved coordination among institutions and capacity building of human resources.

“Delivery results of the fishing industry for export via cargo aircraft is growing. However, this growth is also often accompanied by delivery of fishery products which are not according to standard regulations, even smuggling. Therefore we support BKIPM Marine and Fisheries Ministry to help monitor traffic through the fishery aircraft at airports that we manage,” said Danang.

“The signing of this cooperation is a milestone for BKIPM with PT Angkasa Pura I to cooperate and work together in monitoring the traffic of fish and fishery products through airports under the management of PT Angkasa Pura I,” Rina revealed. [AD]
